Thank you to Sponsors

Dear friends and sponsors,

Just two weeks ago and we all ran past the finish line of the gigathlon 2005 in Basel, Switzerland, exhilarated by the two day event and joyous that we finished healthy and ready to move on to the next adventure - our holiday in Italy. It has been an incredible adventure for all of us, for some a dream come true, for others to enjoy the limits, for me personally it was all of it.

But all of this couldn't have happened if it wasn't for the support and help of all the sponsors, the friends and family who supported us during the preparation as well as the Swiss Olympic Association who granted us a wild card for the event. We'd like to take the opportunity to thank all of you. As we have supporters from Canada and Switzerland, I'd like to give a short summary in which way they all have supported us along the way.

5by5Canada Logo and Team Clothing

Team 5by5 will be sporting a distinctive Canadian look when its arrives in Switzerland on July 1st. Thanks to Helen Lee, our web designer, and Dave Fulton from Crackers, the Maple Leaf and the web site address will appear on our team vests and polo shirts.

Our contact with Dave came by way of a shared moment on the road during the second day of Golden Triangle. David Lawson was drafting behind Dave over a 10 km stretch of highway and noticed the prominent logo on his behind… well, its hard not to notice after 10K). During a brief brake in the routine, they talked a bit about the ride, each other’s work and eventually about the Gigathlon on July 9 and 10. It didn’t take long to connect the dots as Dave’s company supplies small and medium businesses with custom designed logos, jackets, shirts and baseball caps. Suzanne and Dave worked out the details in selecting the clothing with Helen providing the graphics for the logo design. And voila!
