My first "BIG" bike at 4.
|
Born and raised in Switzerland in a small village near Lake
of Hallwil. My mom must have been quite courageous and lent
me her own big bike and at age four I apparently started this
sport. Then it was fun as one can see.
There were no school buses and we had to go to school by
bike day in day out, rain or shine
base training was
laid in the early years.
Biking became more a must or work than fun. Fun was ski racing,
waterskiing, tennis, sailing, orienteering, volleyball
individual
sports where individual performance counted but also team
sports where it was all about the team and the fun together.

Suzanne loves bike trips

and years go by and with different friends I start
to discover biking again. Through my work in tourism and the
organization of many outdoor programs I would do some bike
trips as well.
Then the first ride I really enjoyed was with my friend in
Holland but still I wasn't hooked.
We may never unveil the secret of what made me change to
enjoy biking again
but definitely my sister and family
in Switzerland who participated at the Gigathlon last year
are the persons high on the list - to get the chance to bike
with my sister was such an opportunity!

and that's me developing the dream last fall
|
The dream
was a dream for a while, planting the seeds
in others the next until it became a reality. To be able to
do this with my best friends is a dream come true.
Learning the biking and cycling again is put the dream to
work with lots of fun and enthusiasm - always the goal in
sight - the travel to Europe with friends, the participation
with and as team - the achievement individually, the goals
I set for myself - and the reward at the end of the Gigathlon
for all of us alone and together to have had an incredible
good time.
