Day 1 - Locarno
to Cevio (28 km)
Day 2 - Luzern to
Sursee (32 km)
Hi, I was born on March 14 1983 in Calgary Alberta. Since
this is a bio that is to be posted on a sport-team website,
sport will be the focus. I began playing sports at a young
age, and my first participation in organized sport was as
a member of a Tee-Ball team. I'm not sure whether it was to
my ineptness for the sport or simply my parents impatience
watching nine other five year-olds trying (usually in vain)
to hit a sphere perched atop a cylinder, with another cylinder
(Tee-Ball is a strange sport), but my participation ended
after only one season.
After my season in Tee-Ball a four year hiatus followed.
At the age of nine I was registered onto a hockey team in
my community and I fell in love (with hockey). Every winter
I played hockey, and in the summertime I played any sport
that peaked my interest.
Football, Baseball and Tennis were my favorites. It was through
my love for Tennis that I was able to get to know Suzanne.
We played Tennis together often and became friends.
One day after Tennis, Suzanne asked me whether I would be
interested in competing in an Inline-skating marathon along
with a team, in Switzerland. I agreed.
What appeals to me about the Gigathon is the idea of challenging
myself to achieve and have the chance to participate in an
adventure with a team of friends (new and old), in a country
as cool as Switzerland. Leading up to the race I have many
goals, but my main goal is to finish the race.
